In House Cash - Cash Pooling

Dear Gurus,

Our client is implementing In-House Cash module to meet their Cash pooling (zero Balancing) requirement. I am new  to this area. Request to please help me to understand the settings in SAP to meet this requirement.

Scenario

· Cash Pooling Arrangement is between Parent entity & Child Entities.

·   Maximum Limit is - pre defined

·  Parent Entity has an Overdraft Facility.

· Each Transaction is treated as a Loan and / or Repayment of Loan between Parent Child Pair.

·  nterest is due on loan outstanding half yearly (30 Sep & 31 Mar). Interest is capitalized net of withholding tax on next calendar day for non – payment of interest due.

·    Lender /borrower remain a lender/borrower and interest is levied accordingly; till the entire outstanding is not settled.

·   At year end Amendment of interest takes place & is applicable for the outstanding loans from the date of disbursement. i.e. True up of loan happens and any change in the interest rate will retrospective effect (from start date) on the outstanding loan amount .

·   All Child accounts are zero balance at End of Day and funds are transferred to Parent as repayment of loan or lending to Parent.

·   Each Co Code is having external Bank accounts and sweep in transactions are reflected both in HO & Subsidiary Bank Statements.

·   Bank statements are uploaded separately for each Co Code (HO & Subsidiary)

Example

C (parent) lends to A (child 1) if there is a shortfall and
charge interest and remains a lender till all outstanding is not repaid by A to C, similarly B (child 2)
lends to C on surplus and charge
interest and remains a lender till all outstanding is not repaid by C to B

My understanding

a.  An IHC center to be created at Parent Co Code (C ) that will act as a virtual Bank and each subsidiary will maintain separate current account in the IHC center.

b. Two additional current accounts

    1. Account to represent that FI that imports the bank statement holds in the in-house cash center. 
    2. Suspense Account - Payments for which the system was not able to automatically determine a recipient are posted to this account.

       Mapping of the same will be done in “Set Up Account Determination for Incoming Payment” in IMG settings

c. The above combination of three accounts (a + b) needs to be created for each currency in which the cash pooling is happening.

d. IHC center will be created as House Bank in each of the subsidiaries and current account as created before will be the bank account number in the House Bank. The same will be used for internal Bank statement update in subsidiary.

   

Doubt
1.  Flow of accounting entries in each stage

2. Subsidiaries external Bank Statement will also have zero balancing entries like HO Bank Statement. So how to deal with this part.

3. True up of Loan & post tax interest capitalisation


IHC - managing multiple currencies in same external bank account

Hi IHC experts,

 

I have several questions with respect to how foreign currencies are handled in IHC.

 

A client of mine is implementing IHC. They currently have one current account opened with their external bank. The account's main currency is USD, but they have negotiated the ability to hold amounts in other currencies eg. JPY, CNY, AUD. For example below,  they might be holding up to 4 different currencies in their bank account at any point in time.

 

Scenarios in question

-------------------------------

1. How do we map this external bank account in IHC, taking into consideration the various currencies it may be holding at any point in time? Is the following the correct account structure to have:

 

The client has subsidiaries in US (which is the IHC), China and Australia but not Japan.

i. Create an account in the system with account currency USD and assign to the IHC in US

ii. Create an account in the system with account currency CNY and assign to subsidiry in China

iii. Create an account in the system with account currency AUD and assign to subsidiary in Australia

 

Is what I've suggested the right structure to have? The client has no subsidiary in Japan, so how do we reflect the JPY currency amounts held in the external bank account?

 

2. Internal/External Payments

i. A subsidiary in Australia would like to make an internal purchase from a subsidiary in China. If the China subsidiary issues the vendor invoice in CNY, how should it be handled?

ii. A subsidiary in Australia has made a purchase with a vendor in China, and the IHC would like to use the CNY held in their external bank account to settle the payment. How should this be handled?

iii. A subsidiary in Australia has made a purchase with a vendor in Japan, and the IHC would like to use the JPY held in their external bank account to settle the payment. How should this be handled?

iv. How does IHC handle forex gains/losses

 

3. Cash concentration

---------------------------------

i. At day end or period end the client would like to perform cash concentration to adjust the amounts it wants to hold in foreign currencies. How can this be performed in the system using the standard cash concentration interface?

ii. After the cash concentration run is done, it would like to issue payment requests to it's external bank to perform the adjustments in foreign currency holdings. How can this be done?

 

4. Account balancing

-------------------------------

i. Same as no. 3, the client would need to calculation interests earned in the various currencies, and also calculate all foreign currency translation charges incurred. How does IHC handle foreign exchange charges?

ii. How does IHC handle forex gains/losses in this case, where the a certain amount of funds is translated from account currency (USD) to another currency (CNY) for holding purposes?

 

I would appreciate any sort of help. All questions don't have to be answered at once, if you only have the answer to a certain part, I'll very happy to hear from you already.

Activate Change Documents in tx TX01 and TX02

Hello Gurus:

 

I would like to know how to configure transactions TX01 and TX02 in order they generate change documents on creation and modification.

 

I'm designing a workflow template that is executed at the moment a document is created or modified in TX01 and TX02. It was working fine some days ago (the change document had been created), but now the CD is no more created (maybe due a configuration change).

Liquidity item manually assignment (Liquidity Planner process)

Dear colleagues,

 

Can you please give me an advice in Liquidity Planner process.

 

I am trying to assign the liquidity item manually to payment document in FLQAM transaction. But I have the error: u201CNo line item exists for FI document <CompCode> <№doc> <year> 000. Message no. FLQ015u201D.

So can I assign the liquidity item for payment document manually if I donu2019t use automatic assignment from Bank statement, FI document and invoice?

 

The customizing which Iu2018ve done for liquidity planner:

FLQC1 - Liquidity Items creation;

FLQC2 - define default liquidity item values for incoming and outgoing payments documents (incoming payments, outgoing payments, incoming transfers, outgoing transfers);  

FLQC3 - Company code activating for Liquidity Planner;

FLQC13 - Liquidity Calculation: Use Partial Information Maintain Info Accounts in Application; Get Information from Orders; Open G/L Account Lines are End Point; Completed per Company Code.

FLQC4 u2013 actual accounts except house bank accounts;

Treasury Contract and Business Partener setup

Hi Gurus,

 

Need your helping hand on the below query:

 

As per the client requirement i have created a new House Bank with an Account ID. They also need to have a Treasury Contract to be created for this bank. For this they want this bank to be setup as a Business partner too for posting the treasury contracts.

 

Please guide me the following:

1. Where to define the Treasury Contracts for this bank?

2. What settings needs to be done for setting up as a Business Partner, for posting the treasury contracts?

Hi,

I need a report that shows, in a certain date, the principal loan amount as well as the accrued interest of each transaction.

For the principal amout the transaction used is TMR1 but I need a transaction that allows me to get the accrued interest amount.

I'm getting error while trying to create facilities.

 

Scenario as below:  I enter details in structure and charges tab and click to rules tab i get the dumP error as below

Has anyone ever used target field EBFK0A1 BDC Account Type successfully?  If so, can you please explain the basic settings?

 

We want to influence changing the G/L account number for posting area 1, line item 1.  Any specific examples would be very helpful.  We wish to avoid the creation of a new posting rule for each G/L account.

fix and post derived transaction

I have questions regarding "fix and post derived business transaction",  how to differentiate between OTC trans. and Loans, I have a customized product type Z90, product category: 510(fixed term deposit), why it is OTC trans but not loans?

 

for Z90, I have flow type: Z110(increase), Z111(decrease), Z112(final repay), Z120 (norminal interest)

 

I go to SPRO, money market node, and I find update type ZMM110+ and Z1MM110- is assigned to flow type Z110 under "money Market" (column cont. type),

 

but when I run tpm18, only update type ZB0001 is coming out, and account assigned to update type ZB0001 is posted, why it is not update type ZMM110+?

in TPM18, value of 320000 JPY is posted, my local currency is JPY, deal currency is USD. deal value is 3000 USD, how is 320000 is calculated?

I have product type 910, OTC MM, in SPRO, we configure for transaction type 200, condition type1110: final repayment, 1111 interest repayment, 1112 interest annuity and three more,

 

but when I go to FTR_display, for transction type 200, click "conditions" on the top, only 1110 and norminal interest is displayed, what happened to other condition type? why not appear in FTR_EDIT?

 

what's the benefit of using condition type 1110 and norminal interest for my deal? in FTR_EDIT, how can I find what's the usage of condition type 1110 and norminal interest?

 

I have run TPM18, and when I run TPM10, it shows no positions selected, why happen no result? any T-code I can check correctness of TPM18?

EBS - MT940 - Auto Clearing with payment document number

Hi

 

I am getting the MT940 bank statement with the payment document number alongwith company code and year at line 86.  For example:

 

900012345678902014?21

 

9000 - company code

1234567890 - Payment document number

2014 - Year

?21 - Not sure

 

I created a new search string as below:

 

( |^)#####################( |$)

 

At tag, I left only the 10 digits for the document number and removed the other values ie for company code, year etc

 

Assigned this search string for the bank account with interpretation algorithm 020 (document number search)and target field is Note to payee.

 

But, the system is not able to clear by looking at the payment document. Instead, it is trying to clear with the amount.

 

Could you please suggest me on this.

Mirror Transaction in Product type

Hi All,

 

We have been configuring Mirror Transactions for product type 62B.

 

for transaction 304. (Fix to Fix).

 

However we get no error message and no mirror deals are created even when the deal is created or settled.

 

Maintain Relevant Product Types and Transaction Types

 

100062B3040120/302000

 

Map Product Types and Transaction Types

 

200062B304TEST+ Incoming 01 Mirror Image
100062B304TEST- Outgoing01 Mirror Image

 

Process Incoming Data

 

200062B3040120/3010000101 Mirror Image

 

Company codes are correctly mapped to Partners.

 

Still we do not get the Mirror deal created.

 

We checked the Class: CL_IM_FTR_TR_MIRROR_DEALS in which FTR_MIR_BAPI_CREATE is used to create deals.

 

In the class I dont find any condition for product category 620 - SWAP.

 

Your guidance is appreciated.


SAP TRM : how to assign default VAT Code in Business partner (TR0151)

Hi SAP guru

 

 

We are using TRM with Business Partner (BP role: TR0151 counter party) with the customer integration activated, so TRM trigger various types of Accounting document in Financial accounting and some account expects VAT exempt code.

 

Would any of you be able to advise me how to assign default VAT codes within Business partner for this BP role or how to enable such assignment?

two issues in assign of profile and group

in FTREXT_ASSIGN, there is Z001 profile and Z003 BP group, may I know in SPRO, where can we find the definition of those Z001 and Z003?

 

I maintain profile and BP group for one business partner, I only add profile to product type 901/buy transaction, after save and come back, I realized

 

I forget product type 902, 903, but in in FTREXTASSIGN, I find I can't add more product type, there is no "+" button at the right panel, how to add profile to additional product type for that BP?

Auto payment enable in SAP (F110)-Check not generated

Hi All,

 

When I try to make payment via tcode f110, I specified bank which was assigned with a specific payment method in variant, system

auto selected all due invoices and make payment. Postings were successfully done but check number were not created.

 

However, when i made payment via tcode f-58, i specified the same bank which was assigned with a specific payment method. I

manually selected the due invoices and made payment. Posting were successfully done and check number were created

automatically by the system.

 

Any idea what could went wrong for F110 or any other area that i need to consider before i make auto payment.

Hi,

 

let's assume you entered into Cross Currency interest rate swap in e.g. EUR against USD, where both or at least one of currencies are foreign to a Company code.

 

my questions are the following:

--- at End of Period -  if you have certain FX rate fluctuations against your local currency (which is the case usually), would you normally reflect that in valuation;

--- at the maturity of instrument - also if you have certain FX rate changes against your local currency (which is the case usually) - should some Derived business transaction be generated during TPM18;

--- if both answers to previous questions are positive, could you suggest what areas in Customizing should I check to make it possible.
